Max Allegri has confirmed Arthur will miss the semi-final second leg against Fiorentina.
The Juventus manager added he is down to just two midfielders but trusts them to get the job done. Danilo could also feature for the Old Lady, while 18-year-old Fabio Miretti has also been added to the squad.
The Italian manager has hinted at roles for the two players tomorrow. Speaking about the opponents, Allegri wants his players to match the intensity of Fiorentina in the first 60-70 minutes of the game. He expects the game to be different from the first left, which Juve won 1-0. Allegri said at his press conference.
“It will be a tough game, Fiorentina have had a good run of form and I believe that Vincenzo Italiano is confirming the good things he did at Spezia,” the coach said.
“Tomorrow’s game will be different from the first leg. Substitutions will be important tomorrow, those starting will need to keep a high pace.
“Fiorentina play with a high rhythm in the opening 60-70 minutes, so we must be at the same level. They have good technical skills and are in shape.
“Leonardo Bonucci and Mattia Perin will start, but I’ll decide the line-up after tomorrow’s training session. Arthur isn’t available, we have two midfielders who are enough. We could see Danilo, let’s see where. We have [Fabio] Miretti, so there’s plenty of options.”
Lorenzo Venuti’s own goal in injury time saw Biaboneri steal the win and take the lead in the tie. The winner of the semi-final tomorrow at the Allianz Stadium will face the winner of Milan vs Inter next month. The other semi-final is poised at 0-0, and that takes place tonight.
