Former Juventus, Napoli and Italy defender Fabio Cannavaro has spoken to Italian newspaper the Corriere dello Sport about his former club and the upcoming season, in which he played down the Bianconeri’s chances of winning Serie A.
“Who wins the Scudetto? I would like to say Inter or Milan, with Roma at a close distance or, in any case, not far away. The past counts and Pioli and Inzaghi start with a good advantage.
“Juve? They had started the summer with two sensational signings, but losing Pogba through injury is not a good thing, and this is called bad luck. But it must also be said that they still lack something else: replacing Chiellini and Dybala, for example, is not easy, they are big gaps to fill. I imagine that Juve is going through a moment of transition, they must pass from one era to another.”
Juventus kick-off their Serie A campaign on Monday evening.
