Giorgio Chiellini reflected on his greatest joys and regrets from his time at Juventus during an appearance at the Trento Sport Festival.
The veteran defender concluded his long journey with the Bianconeri this summer, opting for a move to MLS club LAFC. Although he had one year remaining on his contract with Juventus, Chiellini felt it was the right moment to move on.
A key factor in his decision was Italy’s failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. After spending 18 years in Turin, Chiellini holds deep affection for the club and many cherished memories.
At the Trento Sport Festival, Chiellini shared his reflections, revealing both the highs and lows of his Juventus career.
Chiellini’s Greatest Joy
The legendary defender named his first Scudetto win with Juventus as his most cherished moment.
“My greatest joy was my first league title because we didn’t expect it. I always remember the victory in Trieste,” he said.
Chiellini’s Biggest Regret
Chiellini admitted that his biggest regret was missing the 2015 Champions League final against Barcelona due to injury.
“The biggest regret at Juventus was not being able to play the Champions League final in Berlin due to injury,” Chiellini shared (via ilbianconero.com).
“It remains my biggest regret because, considering my performance that season, I deserved to play in the final.”
Chiellini’s reflections highlight the deep connection he formed with Juventus during his nearly two decades at the club, as well as the moments that defined his illustrious career.
