Chiellini wants to be available for Juve’s clash against Atalanta

Juventus senior defender, Giorgio Chiellini is targeting to be available for his team’s upcoming clash against Atalanta.

The center back has been absent before Juve’s Serie A match against Fiorentina on November 7. Chiellini suffered a muscle problem which also kept him out from participating for Italy’s two crucial World Cup qualifiers earlier this month.

The senior defender also missed Juve’s disappointing 4-0 loss from Chelsea in UCL this midweek. However, the player is recovering well and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Juventusnews24) is pushing to return against Atalanta.

Massimiliano Allegri is expecting Chiellini will return to the group’s training this Thursday. Although he won’t be at 100 percent yet this weekend unless there’s a setback the defender will be hoping to play a part for Juve.

Allegri will certainly monitor the 37-year-old condition in the next few days before making his final decision. If Chiellini were to start against Atalanta, he most likely will replace Matthijs de Ligt.
