Dejan Kulusevski opens up on Juventus struggles

Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski has now opened up on his struggles at Juventus and how things have changed at Spurs.

The Swede had a frustrating spell at Juve, as he arrived at the club on a permanent basis from Atalanta following an impressive loan spell at Parma. After a disappointing stint, he joined Spurs on an initial loan deal in the January of 2022 and he has impressed for the Lilywhites.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport recently, the winger spoke about Juventus and how physical training under Antonio Conte has changed him as a player.

He revealed that he is someone who likes to look forward on the pitch – something which didn’t happen with Max Allegri’s style. He believes that as a result, leaving Italy was the best choice for him. He also hailed Antonio Conte’s ability to motivate players and use gym training to physically enhance his players.

“He stated: “I’m a guy who likes to look forward, more than back. Certainly at Juventus I didn’t feel very well for many different reasons and when you realize that things are not going well, then it is difficult to reverse the course remaining in the same environment. Therefore the choice leaving Italy was the best I could do in that situation.”

The further said: “Honestly yes. I don’t want to say that one is better than the other, because I have great respect for both Allegri and Conte and both have won a lot in their careers, but the job and the idea of football are completely different. At Tottenham, like I have already said, you work a lot harder in the gym and you can see the results. I can say that from Juve to Spurs my world has changed.”
