Angel Di Maria will reportedly miss Juventus’ next Champions League fixture versus Benfica and will only return against Monza.
The Argentinian international suffered another injury during the Old Lady’s Serie A encounter against Fiorentina. That problem forced him to miss Juve’s Champions League opener against his former side, PSG.
The Bianconeri’s medical team are working to recover him as soon as possible, especially for their next UCL tie vs Benfica. However, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport(via Juventusnews24), it’s unlikely that Di Maria can return against the Portuguese side.
For now, the likeliest return date for the ex-Real Madrid man would be on Juve’s Serie A fixture against Monza. Even if he can return for that game, the player probably won’t be playing from the start either.
Di Maria’s absence has been crucial for Juventus as so far this season, he has been their most exciting creative spark offensively.
Nevertheless, the season is long and the Bianconeri surely won’t jeopardize the Argentinian’s health.
