Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba reveals that he could have joined Juventus in the final years of his career.
Drogba is mostly known for his excellent years with Chelsea where he played for nine years winning the Premier League four times and the Champions League once.
Aside from England, Drogba also played in several other leagues, such as the Ligue 1, the Turkey League, the Chinese Super League, and the MLS. The ex-striker had a remarkable playing career, but regrets not moving to Serie A, specifically to Juventus.
The Chelsea legend has admitted that he could have worn the Bianconeri shirt and regrets not doing so. The striker confirmed that he was close to joining Juventus in the final years of his career.
Drogba also held talks with Inter, but in the end, he remained at Chelsea for the majority of his career. Unfortunately, he ended up not moving to Italy as he loved the Blues.
What Drogba said about Juventus
“I could have ended my career with Juventus, but in the end, it didn’t happen,” Drogba said at the Global Youth Tourism Summit (via Tuttosport).
“Just like the previous negotiation with Inter that didn’t come through. I was happy with my club, so I decided to stay.”
“I do have some regrets as I would love to play in Serie A. I would also score plenty of goals there.”
