Ex-Juve boss Pirlo in pole for the Cremonese job

Former Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo could return to manage in Serie A as he is a candidate to take the Cremonese job.

The newly-promoted side has parted ways with their tactician Fabio Pecchia after confirming their return to Serie A. Pecchia’s departure means that Cremonese will be looking for a new tactician to lead them next season.

One of their main candidate for taking the role is apparently former Juve boss, Andrea Pirlo. As reported by Sky Sport (via ilbianconero.com), the tactician is already in Cremona to discuss a potential deal.

Cremonese must make haste on their decision as Pirlo also has other suitors in the top league. Aside from the Grigiorossi, another team that would consider the former midfielder are Salernitana.

However, the Salerno-based side will only offer Pirlo the role if they can’t find an agreement with Davide Nicola.

Pirlo coached Juve in the 2020-2021 season but he only lasted until last summer as the club replaced him with Massimiliano Allegri.
