Fabio Miretti – Who is the Juve youngster making his full debut today?

It is a day to remember for Juventus midfielder Fabio Miretti. The 18-year-old has been handed his first team debut for the clash against Venezia – partly as a result of an injury crisis at the Old Lady. However, Miretti’s importance today cannot be underestimated as Bianconeri fans prepare for a closer look at one of their brightest youth prospects.

Miretti started his youth career with brief spells at Saluzzo and Cuneo before he joined the Juve academy in 2011 at the age of 8. 10 years spent in the youth teams at Juventus were rewarded with a handful of caps for different Italian youth national teams – including 10 games for the U19s starting last year.

It was only last season, in fact, that Miretti played his first games for Juventus U23 in Serie C – and the midfielder also made two substitute appearances for the first team this season – coming on late in the games against Malmo and Salernitana.

In terms of style, Miretti started of his career as a mezz’ala but also became competent as a trequartista – with it expected that the youngster will more than likely play a role more similar to the former today.
