From Germany: Bayern Munich open talks for De Ligt

According to Sky Sport Deutschland, Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt and talks between the two clubs have already begun.

The Dutch international wants to leave Juventus in the summer, as confirmed by club’s CEO Maurizio Arrivabene last week.

De Ligt has a €120m clause included in his contract, but Juventus are aware that clubs interested in the defender won’t offer as much.

According to Sky Sport in Germany, Bayern Munich have opened talks to sign the former Ajax captain who is willing to join the Bundesliga giants.

According to the report, Juventus want €60-80m to sell De Ligt, while reports in Italy suggest the Old Lady won’t negotiate for less than €90-100m.

Juventus have rejected Chelsea’s opening offer of €40m plus Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic.

De Ligt joined Juventus from Ajax in an €85.5m deal in 2019 and has won one Serie A title, one Coppa Italia and one Italian Supercup in Turin.
