‘I cried because I knew…’ Danilo shares social media message after injury

Juventus defender Danilo explained that he broke into tears after collecting an injury against Lazio as he knew he’d be forced out of action for a long time.

Juventus have confirmed Danilo will remain out of action for eight weeks due to an adductor injury that he sustained against Lazio on Saturday.

“The diagnostic tests Danilo underwent this morning at J|Medical showed a medium degree lesion of the adductor longus muscle of the left thigh,” Juventus official statement read.

“The initial recovery time is expected to be approximately eight weeks.”

Danilo shared a social media message a few hours after the club’s statement.

“Unfortunately, I’ll be out for a few weeks. The tears at the end of the game were of pain but also of sadness because I was sure to skip the next matches that will be important for us,” Danilo wrote.

“I can only continue to be one of you and support my teammates as always! In the meantime, I will do everything to be available as soon as possible. We never give up! Come on Juve!”
