Italian media highlight most disappointing Juve player against Inter

Italian media consider Matthijs De Ligt as Juventus’ worst player in their Coppa Italia defeat against Inter.

The Bianconeri saw their last chance of lifting a trophy this season vanish following their Coppa defeat. Massimiliano Allegri suffered a disappointing 4-2 defeat after extra-time against the Nerazzurri.

Three major Italian media, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tuttosport and Corriere dello Sport gave their verdict on Juve players’ performances. Both media believe that Matthijs De Ligt was the Bianconeri’s worst player in that match.

Gazzetta gave the Dutchman a 5/10 rating while CorSport and Tuttosport only rate him at 4.5 out of 10 for his display. De Ligt failed to impress throughout the match and he was involved in two penalties that Inter got.

Although the fouls were debatable, the Dutchman was too naive in handling the situations that led to those spot-kicks.

Aside from De Light, the media also think that Massimiliano Allegri was to blame for Juve’s loss in that match. The coach failed to maintain their momentum after his side went 2-1 up early in the second half.

CorSport rate Allegri’s tactical work at 4.5/10 while both Tutto and Gazzetta gave the tactician a 5 out of 10.
