Wojciech Szczesny was the best Juventus player against Chelsea and that says a lot about the performance of his teammates in a ‘tragic’ 4-0 loss at Stamford Bridge.
The former Arsenal star conceded four goals but avoided at least two more with saves on Reece James and Hakim Ziyech.
“I get the sensation we have found our balance. It’s just that tonight we put in a tragic performance and were punished by four goals,” Szczesny said after the game.
“You can lose, but I struggle to accept losing like this.”
He was rated 6.5 by Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport and 7.5 by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Not many Juventus players got passing grades. McKennie and Bonucci were rated 6 by Gazzetta, same as Locatelli and Arthur on Il Corriere dello Sport.
Other players were rated 5 or below.
Undoubtedly, those with the worst ratings were Alex Sandro, Adrien Rabiot and Rodrigo Bentancur, who got 4 or 4.5 on every Italian sports paper. Federico Chiesa got 5 on Corriere dello Sport, 4 on Gazzetta and Tuttosport.
Max Allegri was also blamed and received very low ratings: 5 on Il Corriere dello Sport, 4.5 on Gazzetta dello Sport and 4 on Tuttosport.
