Juventus eye Atalanta star Muriel as Vlahovic backup but…

Juventus could make a move for Atalanta striker Luis Muriel to be Dusan Vlahovic’s backup but only if Alvaro Morata leaves.

The Bianconeri are working on improving their squad for next season after a rather disappointing season. Juve want to improve their squad in every area, including the attacking department.

Despite the arrival of Vlahovic last January, Massimiliano Allegri’s side will still in improving their offence. Juve reportedly are eyeing a new striker who can be a backup to Vlahovic.

They are considering several names, including Atalanta striker, Muriel who wouldn’t mind playing as a second fiddle. However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport(via ilbianconero.com), the Bianconeri’s potential move for the Colombian will depends on Morata’s future.

Juventus’ management will only make an attempt on Muriel if they don’t permanently sign the Spaniard. The Old Lady are yet to make their decision on Morata as they won’t pay the €35m fee, Atletico Madrid ask.

The Bianconeri are only willing to pay around €10m to 15m for permanently signing Morata. If they opted not to sign the Spanish international, Juve will use that money for Muriel instead.

Atalanta reportedly value the Colombian international at around €15m to €20m.
