Juventus’ Giorgio Chiellini speaks about LAFC move ahead of transfer

Juventus’ Giorgio Chiellini has spoken about LAFC ahead of his move to the MLS side.

Chiellini’s contract at the Bianconeri was initially till the summer of 2023 but due to Italy’s failure to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, he has decided to move on this summer itself. He is now set to join LAFC, with a move close to being announced.

The Italian spoke to Radio Anch’Io lo Sport (via FootballItalia) recently and he gave his views about LAFC and what role he would don at his next club. He revealed that he wants to end his playing career slowly while playing abroad and he could also become a director.

“I need an experience abroad to end my playing career gradually. I can move to a growing league to learn something as well.

“I am ready for a new role on the pitch. But mentally, I’d also be ready to become a director.

He further stated:“I’d like to know everything going on around the pitch, inside the offices, but it takes time, patience and desire to sacrifice. We’ll talk again in a few years and hopefully, I’ll have understood the particularities and difficulties of the role.

“My adventure in the USA will prepare me for what will happen next.”

It was reported earlier that Chiellini was also considering becoming a manager or a director but he seems to have settled on his choice to continue playing. The announcement of the move is expected today.
