Juventus’ McKennie did not suffer a serious injury during World Cup clash

Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie picked up an injury during USA’s clash against Wales in the 2022 World Cup but it’s not anything serious.

The American International played as a starter during his national team’s first group game in the 2022 World Cup this midweek. McKennie didn’t manage to finish the match as he was taken off midway into the second half of play due to injury.

The player felt a pain in his muscle and had to be replaced by Brenden Aronson in around 66 minutes. There was some concern regarding the player’s condition as it might affect his situation at Juventus.

However, according to multiple reports(via Juventusnews24), McKennie’s injury was not too serious. The player should be available for the USA’s next World Cup match against England on Friday.

His condition should also give some relief for Juve who certainly would like to see all of their players in the World Cup escape injuries. Although McKennie’s future is reportedly up in the air in January, until any deal happens he remains part of the Bianconeri squad.
