Juventus could reportedly make an attempt to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the winter transfer window.
The Serbian international was one of the Bianconeri’s main targets to bolster their midfield department this past summer. However, following the signings of Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria, Juve never opted to push for Milinkovic-Savic.
Despite rumors of interest from several top teams, the 27-year-old ends up staying at Lazio this summer. Nevertheless, his future is still up in the air, especially with his contract expiring in 2024.
Lazio are working to extend his contract, but the player might have other ideas and finally considering a move. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), Milinkovic-Savic is yet to think about accepting a contract renewal with the Biancocelesti.
His current focus, for now, is to give his best for Lazio and prepare well for the upcoming World Cup 2022. Juventus could reportedly disturb the Biancocelesti’s plan as Massimiliano Allegri’s side might consider making a bid in January.
Considering Pogba’s long-term injury, the Bianconeri might return to Milinkovic-Savic as a solution for their midfield. The player might be tempted to leave, especially if he refuses to sign an extension with Lazio.
