Juventus youngster Koni de Winter is said to be closing in on a loan move to Serie A side Empoli this summer.
De Winter did play in the Juventus first-team last season but the youngster was far from being a regular for the Bianconeri. He played in the Champions League for the Old Lady under Max Allegri but it looks like he is about to leave the club – atleast on a temporary basis.
La Repubblica (via TuttoJuve) have now claimed that the player is edging close to a loan move to Empoli, who are well ahead of everyone else in the race to sign him.
Sampdoria were also interested in the player but Empoli have beaten competition to rope in the youngster for a season-long loan. Sampdoria had actually come forward with an offer to Juventus but contacts ended up fading later on.
The Belgian is a centre-back by trade and he made two appearances for the Old Lady last season.
