Lazio continue to close the door on Milinkovic-Savic’s exit amid Juventus interest

Lazio’s president Claudio Lotito continues to insist that his star midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, is not for sale amid interest from Juventus.

The Serbian international midfielder is under contract with the Biancocelesti until 2024 but they want to extend his deal. Lazio are not keen on starting next season having Milinkovic-Savic entering the final year of his contract.

The midfielder’s situation is attracting interest from many clubs, notably Juventus who have been eyeing him for a while. The Bianconeri might finally make an official move for Milinkovic-Savic next January, hoping to avoid competitions next summer.

Juve’s management are hoping that the midfielder will not extend his deal with Lazio, giving the Turin outfit more leverage. However, despite there’s still a deadlock with Milinkovic-Savic’s renewal, the Biancocelesti are still not willing to sell.

Lazio’s president, Claudio Lotito once again insisted that his team are not planning to part ways with their star midfielder. Although admitting that there’s still no agreement regarding the player’s renewal, that doesn’t mean he will leave the club anytime soon.

“Everyone says Milinkovic will go here or go there, but he’s not for sale,” Lotito told Il Messaggero(via ilbianconero.com).

“Everybody knows how much Milinkovic-Savic is worth for me and Lazio, and I’m stuck on talks about renewal.”

“Among other things, I want to wish both him and Vecino a great World Cup, given that they will represent Lazio,” the president added.
