Juventus are looking to strengthen the midfield area, but one of their potential transfer targets may be heading elsewhere.
According to German newspaper Bild (via tuttojuve.com) Manchester United have already made an offer for Swiss international Denis Zakaria.
The 25-year-old is currently having a great Bundesliga season with Borussia Monchengladbach and is out of contract in Germany at the end of the season.
Bild reports that the Red Devils are not prepared to wait until the end of the current campaign and would rather pay Monchengladbach compensation immediately to bring the player to Old Trafford in January.
Juventus has made it clear that they are only interested in loan deals with no obligation to buy in this window and are prepared to wait until the summer before renewing their interest.
The central areas have been pinpointed as a current weakness in Max Allegri’s squad, but the priority is still understood to be a new centre-forward.
