Newcastle and West Ham offer lifeline to Juventus outcast

Premier League clubs Newcastle United and West Ham United have entered the race to sign Juventus midfielder Arthur, amid speculation that the Brazilian could be leaving the club this summer.

Arthur’s time at Juventus has been a mixed one and it has culminated in the Bianconeri’s plans this summer to offload him – ideally on the basis of a loan with option or obligation to buy.

Valencia had been linked as favourites to sign the former Barcelona man this summer but head coach Gennaro Gattuso has confessed that whilst the club are keen, they just cannot sensibly afford the player at this point in time. Therefore, according to reports from TuttoJuve, West Ham and Newcastle are both waiting to make a move on the Brazilian.

Arthur had been linked with a move away from Juventus as early as January, when Premier League side Arsenal were close to signing the midfielder before giving up due to Juventus’ lofty demands for the player.
