Paredes outlines Juventus problems following defeat to Benfica

Leandro Paredes believes that Juventus’ current struggles this season are down to mentality but remains confident that they can bounce back.

The Bianconeri suffered another defeat in the Champions League as Benfica beat them 2-1 at Allianz Stadium yesterday. That result put more pressure on the Bianconeri as they haven’t been doing well at the start of this season.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men only managed to grab two wins from eight games across all competitions. Their two consecutive defeats in the UCL were also the first time ever for them.

Juve are also struggling to win in their last four matches, including their midweek clash against Benfica. Commenting about the team’s bad run, the Old Lady’s summer signing, Leandro Paredes claims that it’s a mental issue.

The Argentinian international midfielder understands that they must improve their performance as soon as possible. Nevertheless, Paredes is confident that they can turn things around as the season has just started.

“I think the problem is down to the mental condition,” Paredes told Juventus TV(via Juventusnews24).

“We need to improve but we are lucky that the season has just started and we have time to improve and return to winning ways.”

“Joining a new team and immediately doing well doesn’t always happen,” the midfielder said.

“We must be united and only think about improving. We will eventually get what we want.”
