Juventus came close to signing Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham in 2020, having already reached an agreement with Birmingham City.
Bellingham has since emerged as one of the brightest young talents in world football, earning widespread praise for his consistent performances with Dortmund. The midfielder is now attracting interest from top clubs like Liverpool and Real Madrid, who are reportedly willing to pay a premium for his services.
Juventus were also highly interested in Bellingham and nearly secured his signature in the past. According to Calciomercato.com (via TuttoJuve), the Bianconeri were on the verge of completing the deal in 2020.
The Old Lady had already agreed terms with Birmingham City, and Bellingham even visited Turin to tour the club’s training facilities.
However, the move ultimately fell through, with Bellingham opting to join Borussia Dortmund instead. The Bundesliga club’s ability to guarantee regular playing time for the young midfielder likely played a decisive role in his decision.
