Juventus overcame a challenge from Lazio yesterday evening to emerge 2-0 victors at the Stadio Olimpico. An important three points for the Bianconeri were sealed by two decisive goals from the penalty spot, which Leonardo Bonucci duly converted.
The Corriere dello Sport have revealed that Lazio keeper Pepe Reina attempted to distract Bonucci ahead of his second penalty. The reports suggest that Reina shouted for Bonucci to ‘center it’ shortly before the Italian gifted the Bianconeri their second goal of the game.
Reina perhaps felt that he needed to make up for it, as it was his error that led to the second penalty being given. The Spaniard took out Juve forward Federico Chiesa when Chiesa went through on goal with 10 minutes to go.
