Juventus boss, Massimiliano Allegri is very keen on signing Borussia Dortmund’s Axel Witsel because of the player’s experience and qualities.
The Bianconeri are still working to bolster their midfield department as it’s not convincing enough so far this season. Despite already signing Manuel Locatelli from Sassuolo last summer, Juve believe they still need at least one more player.
The club are currently monitoring several players, with Dortmund’s midfielder, Witsel, and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria among the top candidates.
Juve’s management reportedly are leaning more towards Zakaria, but Allegri remains keen on getting the Belgium international instead. According to Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com), the coach’s preference for Witsel is not without any reasons at all.
Apparently Allegri the former FC Zenit star posses two important aspects that the coach values, which are experience and quality. It’s not a secret that the tactician is fond of players who has the ultimate know-how on the pitch.
However, the Bianconeri‘s directors are still reluctant to push for Witsel mainly because of age and high wages. Similar to Zakaria, the Belgium international’s contract with his club will end in June 2022 so he could be available for cheap in January.
