Former coach Arrigo Sacchi believes Angel Di Maria’s potential arrival will make Juventus more dependent on individual players.
Di Maria is Max Allegri’s main target t bolster the right-winger role for 2022-23. The player is available on a free transfer. The Argentinian didn’t renew his contract with PSG and is looking for a new team ahead of World Cup 2022.
Juve have made contacts with Di Maria’s entourage and sent their contract proposal. However, El Fideo is yet to communicate his answer, forcing the Bianconeri to wait.
His potential arrival has triggered reactions from football pundits and fans, including former coach, Arrigo Sacchi. The former Milan tactician apparently sees that there could be some issues for Juve if Di Maria joins the club.
Although the ex-coach has no doubts about the Argentinian’s quality and experience, Sacchi believes adding Di Maria to the current Juventus squad will make the Old Lady’s even more dependent on individual players.
“Di Maria is a champion with great international experience,” Sacchi told La Gazzetta dello Sport(via TuttoJuve).
“Offensively, Juventus will continue to rely on the individual quality of their players upfront.
“Therefore, the more they have would be better for them,” the ex-coach explained.
“Juventus are a classic Italian team that relies heavily on tactics and individual qualities,”
“When talking about modern football, they are a little behind because of their dependency on individual qualities.”
