Juventus keeper Wojciech Szczesny believes that despite losing against PSG, the Bianconeri managed to show the right attitude and desire.
The Old Lady ended their Champions League group stage campaign with another disappointment. Massimiliano Allegri’s men fell into a 2-1 defeat against PSG at Allianz Stadium on Wednesday.
A goal each from Kylian Mbappe and Nuno Mendes were enough to give the visitors all three points as Juve only managed to pull one back through Leonardo Bonucci’s effort. That result means that the Bianconeri lost five out of their six matches in UCL this season, which is an underwhelming record for them.
However, there was still some positives that Juve can take from their midweek loss against PSG, such as attitude and desire. According to the Bianconceri’s shot-stopper, Wojciech Szczesny, his team finally managed to show the right kind of attitude in that match.
Although the defeat was disappointing, Szczesny believes the fact that they can show that attitude means things can only get better.
The Polish international also believes that Juve’s failure in previous UCL games is mostly because of their lack of attitude and desire.
“We saw the right attitude today, even if we lost the game and that is never nice,” Szczesny told Mediaset (via Football Italia).
“The lads showed courage and played their football, and that’s no mean feat for such young players at this level.”
“What we lacked in the Champions League was that attitude, courage and desire to fight.”
“We went through this group without the right character and Juventus mentality, that was only apparent in the final match.”
“I think this was a strong signal, though,” the keeper added.
