Verratti explains Paredes and Ramos row in PSG vs Juventus clash

Marco Verratti has admitted that he was not surprised seeing Leandro Paredes and Sergio Ramos get into a row in the PSG vs Juventus clash.

The Ligue 1 champions got all three points in their Champions League group stage opener by beating the Bianconeri on Tuesday.

PSG started really well as they went 2-0 up in the first 45 minutes through Kylian Mbappe’s double. However, Juve managed to improve after the break and managed to pull one back with an effort from Weston McKennie.

The match was surprisingly quite firey with several scuffles between players, including the one between Leandro Paredes and Sergio Ramos. That row was interesting as Paredes was still a PSG player a few weeks ago and only joined Juve on deadline day.

However, the Ligue 1 side’s star player, Marco Verratti reveals that he was not surprised to see the two players get into a scuffle. Verratti explained that there was nothing personal between Paredes and Ramos as it’s mainly because of their passion for the game.

Verratti commented on Ramos-Paredes row:

“I am good friends with him(Paredes). The odds on that happening were pretty good, as I’d seen them go at it in training, so I’d have bet my house on that happening,” Verratti told Sky Sport Italia(via Football Italia) jokingly.

“They both care so much and put a lot of character into every challenge, but they always have a hug at the end.”
