Why didn’t Juventus call up Chiesa for Verona clash?

Juventus have decided not to call up Federico Chiesa for their clash against Verona this Thursday despite already playing in their previous two matches.

The Italian international finally made his season debut last midweek during the Bianconeri’s Champions League defeat against PSG. Chiesa entered the pitch in the second half and managed to put out a pretty good showing.

The ex-Fiorentina star also got some minutes during Juve’s important victory over Inter this past weekend. However, Chiesa was surprisingly left out for the Old Lady’s midweek match against Verona this Thursday.

Considering the Old Lady’s injury problems, there were concerns about whether Chiesa suffered another setback. Fortunately, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport(via ilbianconero.com), there’s nothing to worry regarding the 24-year-old’s condition.

Chiesa’s absence against Verona is only a precaution as the player was feeling slightly tired and some discomfort. It’s a normal situation since he has been out for quite a while and is not used to the match rhythms just yet.

Juve are still expecting Chiesa gets another call-up to the squad for their clash against Lazio this weekend.
